Easy swap. I put a 51 Merc crank in my 59A block. Just buy bearings for the 59A block. The first and secomd mains ar the same for both blocks. Just the rear main need to be 59A. I used the 8BA rods...

37-48 steering sector shaft

This shaft has some rust damage to the roller. it is not bad. The roller is really extreamly hard and expensive to replace. The pin has to be machined out and new side clearance washers must be...

Re: 34 column drop / ignition lock

Yes, That is a needle from a carb. The spring pushes a ball against the shaft to make the switch click in position. You may have lost the ball. I have used a BB.
I am not sure where the seal goes....

Re: how to check rear wheel bearings

Any in and out movement you feel is just the clearance in the differential gears. Movement is normal. Do not get aggressive if you try to pull the drum/ hub off. They are usually very hard to get...

Re: Pitman arm clocking

You want the pitman arm to point straight down? In a 48? Don’t you mean straight ahead?

Re: Pitman arm clocking

I don’t understand how rebuilding the box would change the clocking. There is a key that index’s the worm on the shaft. Perhaps the rebuilder did not get the worm aligned and forced it on anyway. I...

Re: Stuck column drop 34 sedan

The lock has a code on the side. A new key can be made from the code and sent to you without sending the lock away.

Re: 1932 gas tank sending unit, passenger car

You should not have to remove the tank. The new sender should go thru the hole in the floor. There are baffles in the tank. You need to check for swing clearance with a piece of wire. I would run...

Re: 1932 gas tank sending unit, passenger car

I have put current production fuel gauges in two 32’s and on 45 pick up. I had no trouble with the float. I re-drilled the gauge flanges to match the tank holes. Maybe get another float.

Re: Need a source for '34 pitman arm for Heims

Regular tie rod ends have worked pretty good for a long time. I would weld on a salvaged boss and get rid of the ball but keep the arm. You get into a lot of stuff with splines, orientation, and...

The coil mounts to sheet metal bracket mounted with the two forward drivers side intake bolts. I may have one. I sold the car I had one on.

Re: 1933/34 dual gauge temp sender unit (hose part).

The common lower hose heater hose fitting looks similar. Maybe one could be modified?

Re: 1932 Ford Hudson steering box

The 37 Hudson steering box was only used in 37. The 47 Chevy pick up box was used thru 64 I think. It is basically the same as a 64 Impala box. It is recirculating like a Vega but many times stronger...
