WD 40 worked very well for me . Sprayed it between the block and manifold from the top The engine did an instant speed up ..

The Ackerman steering geometry loads the steering to return to ahead so this takes care of any lash that you would feel at the wheel . It might show up on rough roads at speed but I try to avoid that...
