did you use bolts through the firewall metal? mine is painted already, but it's not out of the question to drill.

are you talking about the two bolts that go straight up and into the lower cowl? how about a gasket between the two painted surfaces?

i'm looking for a picture of this sheet metal air scoop that bolts up to the bottom of the radiator on one end, and the lower grill on the other. my project didn't have one and i've never seen one....

i know what you mean. i had a restored 68 datsun roadster for 30 years, but at some point the seats just didn't agree with my lower back anymore. hated to, but i sold it. at 62 i'm going for comfort...
