Re: Iola old car show

Re: Chassis question
Don't know if this helps but here is a photo of my '38 pickup front end as I started with a IFS install. The frame is stock '38 commercial car. All I have done in this photo is trimmed the bottom of...

Re: 5/16-24 wing nuts...
Sorry, no wing nuts in my parts bin. Probably were not on my truck when I bought it so I used hex nuts. Not really sure why Ford used the wing nuts anyway. Seems to me that they don't hold as well...

Re: 38/39 hood side badges....
The blue paint had fallen off my badges too so I painted them the same red as the rest of the body as I wasn't doing a true restoration.

Re: Convex mirror
I agree. In my pickup I use the drivers side mirror basically just to check the blind spot but I still turn my head to look before making any maneuvers. The right mirror lets me see the edge of the...

The '38 and '39 outer rims are the same. The centers of the two grills are totally different so the center trims do not interchange.
I have a '39 grill on my '38 truck and have trim for both '38...

Re: Question for ‘39 pickup experts

Re: Gas pump question
Kurt's answer is correct. I know a guy who grew up at a family resort and they used a visible pump at the resort until the 60's.
Can't tell for sure from the photo of the 2 pumps but the pump on...
