the old pump fire ext. were Pyrine? or something akin to it, would put out a fire and remove any color that happened to be near it and aspixiate you in the process

81a is the designate of 1938 which is the first year for 48 stud engines, you need to look on vanpelts website for block ID's

pull knob for defroster is just a plain sort of white/light tan in color with no lettering could not answer the question about switch panels

pictures of two heater switch plates for 41, one that is square was broken when I got it and I just JB welded it back together other was found at a fleamarket with a 41 heater

41 had a plate to mount below the dash similar to a 42 up but with only a hole for the heater switch. will get a picture of the two in my trucks today and post

the out put shaft bearing takes most of the stress on these trans, I suppose the brake drum has a lot do do with that. unless the teeth on the gears are ground off/chipped there is not much else to...
