Re: NOS paint thickness
I once painted my '66 mustang exterior with 2 quarts of Centari paint, 1/2 qt of reducer, with a small amount of hardener added. It was my first enamel job and It covered just fine.

Re: Won't Start when Warmed Up
Maybe it would help better if you poured the cold water over the hot starting motor. I can't see how a hot carb would make it crank over too slowly.

Re: Reamers
Don't know where you live but Places like NAPA and auto & truck repair shops usually can do this type of job. Tire shops like Les Shwab, which are in eastern Oregon should be able to hone bushings...

Re: Headlight Help
Headlight relays put the power closer to the bulbs, with less wire resistance. You can look it up on the net.

Re: pops, slips, drops out of second gear
MARK gears are the best in my opinion next to original Ford ones. I have them in my case and they work well. Even with good new gears the fit on shafts need to be checked during assembly. I had to...

Re: Headlight Help
Don't blind oncoming traffic! Maybe choose your modern car at night. Bratton's has a reflector that mimics the factory ones with a modern permanent reflective surface that gives the best light for...

Re: Clutch chatter solved!
I like the disc on the left, it looks well made with flex center, beefier hub attachment, and caged springs. I'm sure both would work OK. It's great you have a good working clutch.

Re: shipping frustration
If the time is lost in printing the shipping label to acceptance by the shipper, it isn't the shipping agency that is at fault.

I did the transmission, brakes, rear axle, and paint, and let the shop do the engine, the kingpin bushings, arc the brake linings and true the drums. The kingpin work was less cost than buying the...

Re: King pin replace
You are getting a good fit by being slow and precise in your work. I'm sure you would agree that many are not that careful. I let work out my door when it makes sense. I have saved parts that others...

Re: King pin replace
Emphasis on a GOOD machinist. He will give you a good final fit. I don't know how cheap the reamers are or your skill, but when I had mine done it was cheaper than buying the reamer and he placed the...

Re: King pin replace
A good machinist can do the job and give you peace of mind. Most likely at less cost than the reamer.
