I prefer autolite because they have rolled not cut threads.

I lost a center main cap.the crank also broke in half.that gave me a
reason to buy a Merc. crank. For peace of mind I installed a center
main strap.

One good thing about Autolite plugs is they have rolled threads, best for aluminum heads.

Check the bearing web and pan rails for cracks. my 50 F-1 did the same thing, but it also broke the crank in half. A local commercial engine rebuilder had a cap that required a light center line hone...

For a temporary fix slip a small rubber O ring over the handle and let it drop into the gap between the handle and the door.

I was blinded by the fact that all my problems started after I installed the Stromberg, It turns out it was a fuel delivery problem,pump going bad. I drained the fluid from the liquid filled gauge it...

I have never had a vapor lock with a Holley 94 but after changing to a Stromberg 48 I am experiencing what appears to be a vapor lock. Runs out of fuel and will not restart, but after a cool down...

My old Dad told me to put your mouth over the tank filler neck and blow, it will push the gas up to the carb. If you don't like the taste of gas get a electric fuel pump.

The starter button is hot all the time, even with the ignition switch off.Some added a cut off switch to the button as a safety device.
