Re: License Plate Search

Check your states motor vehicle laws on using period license plates.

This subject has come up many times before. Some people really seem not to care weather it’s legal to repaint or reproduce a...

Re: Tillotson carb

Get a Zenith and move on.

Years ago I tried to work with the Tillotson on a 31. It was just not worth the effort. Changed to a Zenith, never looked back.

Our 29 has never had a leaking...

Re: How many miles?

Car was in storage after WWII until 1981. I have driven it just under 4,000 miles since than.

Not every owner has to put a lot of mileage on their car...

Re: Changing Brakes

I would tell you to change your system. The reason I say that is simple.

The more Model A’s that are modified. The higher the value of purely stock Model A’s.

There only original once. If...

Re: Leaf springs and shocks

I’m not sure that I agree with you. Shouldn’t a spring be harder to compress and when no longer being compressed quickly go back to its original condition? The shock absorbers softening the...

Re: Brake question

Back off an additional click. Than test drive. If brakes are stopping well, but the drums are still hot. Back off one more click.

Our 29 under normal driving conditions, the drums are just warm...

Re: Max Speed of a Model A in Stock Form

I can think of many other things that some of us will also exaggerate the size of.

Itís not how fast you can go, itís being safe getting there.

Enjoy.

Re: Mothballs

Mint packets. They make little bags you can place around the inside of your car.

Still check car regularly. They (mice) can do a lot of damage in a very short time.

We just had to junk my...

Re: Installing distributor lower shaft

I have taken a large screw driver, put some grease on it, that put end of screw driver in slot of shaft. Than I just put it in place lowering and turning until it joins the lower oil pump...

I will say that a good percentage of...

Re: tire pressure

Good springs and shocks. Front end in good shape. 35 psi.

Re: Is some blowby normal?

No question is a bad question unless you ask it over and over again.

Oil breather, will also keep the fire wall cleaner. Venders sell several different styles.

Enjoy your car.
