I had that problem on my 38 too. I called them and they recommended sanding off some of the surface roughness on the ring. Worked like a charm.

With my Vintage Precision puller I had to clean up some of the rough spots on the hub casting in order to get it to fit. Maybe it’s the same with yours?

Re: Best way to install fender welting?
When I took my car apart 40+ years ago, the fender welt was attached with spiral shank nails. I remember wondering how they drove the nails through the metal

When it gets below zero I use the magnetic one on my daily driver that sits outside. Just stick it on the oil pan. Works great.
The only bad part is crawling underneath to stick it on.

Soldering iron
I need to replace the wires going to my horns and horn relay but my Weller gun doesn’t have enough wattage to melt the old solder joints. What wattage irons do you guys use for these joints?
