Re: Passing of Dear Friend Jim Langley

I had thought his name sounded familiar. He was definitely a member of the fort worth club. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: Modern Ignition System Problem

This is so your ignition is on it's own circuit and doesn't have other electronics to disturb it. You should have a fuse coming off the battery as well. Trust me when I say you don't want it coming...

Re: Why do you own a Model A?

The reason I own one is because of 2 reasons: 1) inheriting my grandparent's town sedan 2) the hobby & local club

My brother and I always absolutely loved Model A'ing as kids with our...

Re: Pate swap meet

I will be there. Our club is one of the main groups who puts it on. They have already reached record breaking sales. It will be different this year. 1/2 on pavement, 1/2 on dirt. I know this "sucks",...

Re: Longest trip you took in a Model A

I took my sedan in 2013 up to the Model A museum grand opening. We left Fort Worth and drove the 1,100 miles in 2 days (750 the first). It was a lot of hard driving but the car performed flawlessly....

Re: Steering Box 7 tooth vs 2 Tooth vs F100

I have the F100 in both my cars and love it. You can turn the wheel with one hand sitting still.

Re: Plans for the 30

I have had 12v for 10 years on one car, and the other car that I acquired has been 12 volts for 30 years. I would never go back to 6v unless I was doing a show car, but I'm also not a purist. Out of...

Re: Club Meetings Using Remote Media

We have about 40 show up which is half the attendance of an in-person meeting. But this month we are going to meet out at a park and see how it goes.

Re: Model A Town Car?

I messaged the seller. I guess she is listing for her brother. She said she thinks he's wanting 40,000 for that one.

Re: Changing of the Guard

I have been VERY active in the Fort Worth club my entire life, and occasionally active in the Dallas club on & off for the past 13 years. I will say that in the state of Texas, we have an active...

Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??

Just food for thought- when someone asks for you to challenge their theory, they will find holes in your response just as you find holes in their theory. I've got better ways to spend my time. Both...

Re: Mitchell Overdrive

I have seen where people mount the cable to the steering column. The cable does free up some leg room- but when I get the mitchell in the future I will choose to use a shifter. I have driven many...

Re: Fs ignitions

Love my FS distributor. Wouldn't be caught without it. We have them in all the cars and they work flawlessly. They fail when they aren't set up correctly. I carry a spare module for emergencies but...

Re: Model A Victoria

man... hope you don't spend that extra $9 all in one place the next time you swipe your card! It supports a hobby you enjoy. I guess we all view things differently.

Re: Crazy temp gauge idea

a new mechanical temp gauge is literally $20 at the auto stores or tractor supply. Why not just save the headache and do that since it's simple and wayyy less work than you're describing.

Re: How Many 2020 Miles Did You Drive

Between the 2, only about 4,000 miles. Which had we done all of the activities this year that were originally planned, it should have been way more.

Re: Does Your A Start Right UP?

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Mine has done this as you describe depending on climate and how long it's been since it was last started. If it sits a week, yeah it'll require...

Re: Bone Stock or Modified?

I have the same Model A that I grew up in with my grandparents. I will say when we went on tours as a kid, the Model A was purely stock with the exception of a 6v alt.

My car is now still a Model...

Re: Luggage Trunk Needed

I don’t know why it won’t allow me to upload a picture from my phone. But I can text you pictures if you’re interested. Google Kari Keen Trunk to get a visual of what it looks like.

Re: Luggage Trunk Needed

I've got a metal trunk & appropriate rack that goes with it (hard to find) that I am trying to sell. It would need to be restored, but it's a better start than what you have.

It's a Kari Keen...

Re: What is a "reasonable" speed in a Model A for one to get "reasonable" engine life

I guess I'm the odd one out. Every stock car around here runs 50 no problem. When mine was stock, it ran 50 no problem for many many years.
