Re: Solenoid clicking. Won't start

Starters are not too complex, and original fords are quite good. Take yours apart, if it only needs bushings and brushes its not a big deal to do yourself. If not, surly there must be a rebuilder or...

Re: Columbia two speed differentials

Dean333, when its manually controlled I can use overdrive in 1st also, so in essence split 3 gears, gives you 6. For example, when cruising at 25-30 on a gravel road, 2nd is wound up tight, and...

Re: Columbia two speed differentials

I have a columbia behind my 59 ab, single carb, merc crank and cam, not a fire breathing

Re: Merc 1939 axle in a 32 frame need help with torque tube lenght

You can not use the 32 stock length, as the later (35 & up) diffs are about 9/16 longer at the pinion snout because of the bigger pinion and bearings.

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

I believe you can just flip the cover of the oil pump over, to get a new surface. Check it with some 320 grit on a flat surface, like your fancy grinder or table saw bed.

Next, use your new...

Re: 12V ‘35 Battery charged starter won’t turn over.

If your car is 12 volt negative ground, then yes do as you described. It will spark like crazy until a good contact is made, so touch the ground to the frame last, away from anything flammable like...

Re: 8BA Flathead Ford Crankshaft Pulley Install

To lock up the motor, you could remove one shift rod from the tranny, and put it in two gears at once...it will not turn over then. For this job, may be easier to just put it in gear with a block...
