Re: Help Identify V8

The generator pulley should be double groove as well on a truck. Generator was likely replaced at some point with "what they had", thus the single groove pulley.

Re: Help Identify V8

With the water pump block off plates, that would make it a 37-38 engine with early heads installed

Re: 28-32 N.O.S. shocks

Like David stated, they are a 1938 and later service replacement shock. In that it is the later 38 and newer design shock, with the early style shaft that will accept 28-32 clamp on arms. These...

Re: Column drop/steering box rebuild questions

I never put any sealant on the end plate shim gaskets, but do use Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket on the side cover gasket. I also use liquid Teflon thread sealant on the cover bolt threads.

Re: Prep my 32 ford for tourning.

I added a right hand tail light and use the LED Model A style lenses. They don't look correct, but they are bright/highly visible and I feel that out weighs the look.

Re: Old pics from Hudson steering on Old Rusty.

I just followed your excellent lead Mart! I think I did my first Hudson conversion back in 2007/2008, so better than 15 years ago. Thank you for the refresh on these old pics and info.

Re: 1934 Ford Truck Door Adjustment

My 32 pickup had about 3/4" of sag on the doors and most was taken out by shimming the cowl. The hinges did need a little straightening and tightening up, but the majority of the problem was...

Re: Accessories ~ Cowl Vent Handle

Glenn - As many have said, it does appear to be an aftermarket gear shift extension, but it has been adapted to what appears to be an original Ford cowl vent handle. Note the threaded end with...

Re: 1932 dual guage

I was able to locate a fitting and modify it to work. Since the 36 waterpump has 5/8-18 female threads and the capillary nut is 11/16-16, I needed a male x male adapter. The closest I could find...

Re: 1932 dual guage

Bringing up this old post, but there was good 32 dual gauge info here, plus I have an installation question.

I am getting ready to install a dual temp/fuel gauge in my 32 Fordor. The car has a...

Re: Various wheels from 1940 Ford Deluxe purchase

I could not locate a date or size stamp on any of those 3 slope backed wheels. They are indeed "inny" lugnuts like other 40-48 Ford wheels.

Re: Various wheels from 1940 Ford Deluxe purchase

Here are 3 of these non-existent Ford script 16x4 slope backed wheels. They may indeed be post war replacement, but they are stamped Ford, not Fomoco.

There is one typical square back 40 Ford...

Re: Various wheels from 1940 Ford Deluxe purchase

To further confuse (or hopefully clarify), 1941 Ford 16x4" wheels have the sloped back like a 46-48 16x4-1/2" wheel, so the sloped back does not necessarily mean that it's not a 4" wide wheel. And...

I would love to have that 32 Cabriolet...especially at that price!

I can't see the sale prices on Mecum's site, what did the hot rod 32 and 34 Roadsters sell for?
