Re: Benefits of a thermostat?

See other threads, many opinions. The Model A has no bypass system like later and modern cars do to circulate the coolant until the stat opens. Hot spots can potentially occur with stagnant flow...

Re: Engine heat in cold weather

So, related to the other threads in conjunction to a stat and faster warm up:
if the 3/8" tube option is employed to the block rear, which way is the coolant flowing in that tube when the stat is...

Re: Need Picture of Cutaway Water Jacket

So if the 3/8" tube option is employed to the block rear, which way is the coolant flowing in that tube when the stat is fully open? When the stat is closed, it does appear from the Ford cooling...

Re: Adjustable Drag Link

Have done the one using a Moog adjustable sleeve using the dies as posted on an old extra drag link. Cut enough threads but don't cut out too much of the drag to get the most support from the sleeve....

Re: 2021 plans for your Model A

WWirz, you may want to read up on changing to modern points and condenser.. I found no benefit and the points can be more difficult to adjust. Check discussions about relocated (purchase short proof...

Re: (Yet Another) Electrical Question

I always install quality battery cut off switches (Cole Hersey 2484 or the longer shank version) and get in the habit off shutting them off when a car is not running, and / or especially during...

Re: Engine heat in cold weather

Some posts have noted cooler running engines with H. Comp heads. Blocking the radiator fins may be a more controllable way to measure or gauge the temps rather than a stat which some say can create...

Re: F-100 steering box conversion

The F100 boxes use the roller sector shaft like mid 30's -on vehicles. Easier to steer but sometimes difficult to adjust out the free play. Btw, a shortened pitman arm on a stock gear most often...

Re: Late 31 oil pump shield?

Interesting question. Anyone done the trimming successfully ? Would the extra 1/8" compromise flow because the dipper tray is not lowered? FORD must have had some reason not to refit prior (higher)...
