It just came to mind that the factory recommended oil change was 500 miles, so sludge build up of the period (non deterg) oils would possibly be lessened if the A's ran cold when produced.

See other threads, many opinions. The Model A has no bypass system like later and modern cars do to circulate the coolant until the stat opens. Hot spots can potentially occur with stagnant flow...

The steering box freeplay with new box components can get very close to 1/4 " at the wheel at the center position, equal lash at both extremes and with wood ruff key pointing towards fill hole, etc....

Have done the one using a Moog adjustable sleeve using the dies as posted on an old extra drag link. Cut enough threads but don't cut out too much of the drag to get the most support from the sleeve....
