JSeery is right, 170 is to cool for a maximum effesent running engine, a cool running engine is fine, but get it to cool and all kinds of bad things happen, poor combustion, carbon forming on rings...

if the anti freeze is a year old I would put in fresh, but I think you could reuse it with out any major problems, anti freeze does not cool as well as water, but the temp difference wont be much,...
