Happy International Model A Day... From Japan

Hello, I might be the only person here in Japan even thinking about Model A Day, so I will share what I was surprised to discover. At the Edo Tokyo Museum there is a 30/31 Model A Fordor decorated as...

Re: Body bolts

That is what I was thinking, and I will go with that. The small one just seems rather small for there, but seems the only place that works deductively. The Judging Standards don't specify the bolt...

Body bolts

I have a body bolt kit from Snyder's, but I am a little confused about what is what. I didn't document the originals, unfortunately, so I can't go by that. So, I know the carriage bolts go in the...

Re: Brake Rod Length

The rods are new so they wouldn't be cut down. I think I have one or two pills in there, so I will try removing those. Wish I had rods ready when it was easy to do that. I have to take everything off...

Brake Rod Length

I am having trouble with my front brake rods. I am figuring the cross shaft arms are set vertically at rest. And with the rod eyes set to 51.5" it won't reach. And to make it reach I don't really...

Rear Fender "Nuts"

I am trying to find replacements for some threaded pieces from my rear apron for attaching the fenders. I think they are called d-nuts, is that correct?
I have seen similar parts on Snyder's, but...

Wood Kit

I will be needing wood for my 60-C. Does anyone have recommendations for where to purchase one? I know a little about Fordwood; does anyone have anything to share about them? Thank you.

Re: 60-C Body Wood Drawings

That would be helpful Roadster62, thank you. Fordwood unfortunately still has no drawings for the 60-C.

60-C Body Wood Drawings

Does anybody have drawings or photos of the body wood in a 60-C? I would like something model-specific to refer to when inspecting my car, in case there are differences, which I assume there are. I...

Nuts

These are the front hub nuts which were on my car, but they don't seem to fit. Are they the wrong nuts or am I missing something to take the space?

Re: What is this?

The spindles I got to replace my worn ones look have that ring like yours does, Tom. I assume then I don't need to replace the seals I had?

What is this?

I cannot find this part in the shop manual. It was on the spindle when I was disassembling the car. I think it was between the inner bearing and the base. I seem to have only found one so I don't...

Re: 1929 Headlight Parts

I know about Bert's, I've been there and I wish I lived closer. :(

I was asking because there's a big auto swap meet coming up here and I wanted to know what to look for. Also, a member of my...

Question 1929 Headlight Parts

I would like some information on the parts I would need to look for to build some '29 headlights. I figure I might be more likely to find original parts than whole original light assemblies.

So, I...

I removed my front motor mount and found some bright areas through the paint. My first thought was I scratched through the metal but it was smooth. So I brushed off the paint and found this.

It is my understanding that cadmium plating is expensive, and as I am building a driver rather than a fine points car I am considering an alternative. If I understand correctly cadmium was used for...

As best I can tell from this picture it is a 30-31 cross member, but I never knew anything about slotted holes on it or any other.

Radiator Mounting Holes

The front cross member of a frame has slotted holes to mount the radiator. Is this normal for a certain year or such? If it matters, the slot runs parallel to the cross member.
