Thanks Tom i had just printed your 17 page Carburetor restoration tips. Good stuff to know. I had a big back fire like a shot gun went off when i took my car for a short drive after a carburetor...

th anks guys for the info . In vol 1 of LES ANDREWS MODEL A FORD MECHANICS HANDBOOK HE SAID TO REMOVE AND DISCARD THIS RING. BUT OT IS A GOOD BOOK AND USE IT A LOT. guess you can not get it all...

does anyone know if that ring at the end of the GVA valve needs to come off or stay on. I have seen it both ways in the books. dont know why it is on the GVA when you buy the part.

Thanks Bruce i think I will get a temp gun Harbor Freight is near ! It is good to know uust how hot it is getting. Sure dont want to fry the motor. I live in N.C. near the beach so temps are moving...

tube is toward the back of the car . I fill it to just over the cores now it is spitting it out in streams about a gallon i would say. It is steaming out around the radiator cap also.

WICK ! How much evapo rust did you use? How did you keep it in the block?

I am thinking you did not put it in the radiator.

will try to load a picture. the horn bell assy shows Sparton stamped on it! Could have been changed over the years b-4 I bought the car a couple of years ago.

Hello 1930 ford I checked my horn and the brushes are mounted to a fiber board no screws.

I do think there is a short somewhere .

i installed a new clutch disc, throw out bearing and put a new pilot bearing
in my model a . It grinds when the motor is running when you try to put it in gear. Could this mean the clutch disc...
