Re: Sport Coupe Roof

Yup2

Passenger side should look like letter S and backward S on driver side - fake center knob toward back of car on both sides:

There are illustrations here:

Re: if you could go back in time, what Model "A" parts would you bring back?

Yep - Travelers Wagon, Taxi, Town Car Delivery, Special Delivery, Deluxe Closed Cab, Australian Open Cab "Ute", just about any AA...the list goes on. Yeah, I like commercials and they are rarer than...

Re: if you could go back in time, what Model "A" parts would you bring back?

A plain old Model J (who'd want one of those? ;)) cost as much as $19,000. Modern paper money won't be any good in 1928-31. Probably best to take gold back with you. At the then-current statutory...

Re: whats the best & worst car to buy in 1930

Maybe Henry could have afforded to build the T until his death, but could he have sold it? 1923 was the high water mark for the T. After that, production and price dropped every year as customers...

Re: whats the best & worst car to buy in 1930

I've owned Model A but no non-Ford cars from that era, so I have no basis for comparison. But I have owned both Fords and MoPars from the late-30s. The ChryCo cars are better built.

Re: What is this truck?

Thanks all for the info!

Flaw-duh has some places that look like that...well, except for the mountains. ;) But no, it's in the ghost town of Bodie, CA. I ran across the pic while...

What is this truck?

What can you folks tell me about this truck? It's obviously early-40s Ford stake-bed. But I don't recall hood vents like that or the V/8 stamped in the sheet metal rather than an applied badge.

Re: this is what I drug home yesterday- not Ford

As one of those seniors with diminished eyesight, I find your bold font annoying, not helpful.

Re: this is what I drug home yesterday- not Ford

OTOH, I've seen posts where the wrong word changes the meaning to the exact opposite of what the poster intended.

And with all due respect, lose the bold font in your posts. We get the message...

Re: Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

Yeah, some DeLuxe AA had chrome bumpers and stainless radiator shell, headlights and taillights but the Service Car didn't. Anyway, thanks for the reply. I figured if anyone knew, you would - and...

Re: Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

Like I said, I've seen pix of a few but this is the one that triggered the question. It was posted on another forum and possibly is for sale. The owner said it was used by a fire department, then...

Question Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

I've seen a few pictures of passenger and commercial 32 Fords that appear to be original and have bright (stainless? chrome?) radiator shells. Was that a Ford option? Or just aftermarket?

Nope. The two rear braces go between the belt rail and the main bow and are bent on only the bow end. The side braces go between the rear door post (B-pillar) and the main bow and are bent only on...

Re: Trailer hitch

Given Mac's disclaimer, there's been quite a bit of debate in this thread over the sturdiness of their hitch. But if one actually reads the disclaimer, it says, "Since factory Model A's are very...

Re: What is driving an A on snow/ice like? Can you add studs to A tyres?

^This^

Had a Cutlass with 350/4-barrel - too much power, front heavy, rear light and having posi-traction didn't help. It would slide if someone spit on the street. Also had a 4-cylinder Fiero -...

Re: Model A - 2 bucks

Guide, aka BLC, aftermarket replacements with the parking light on top. I think they also were OEM on some non-Ford trucks. They've been around since the 30s and became sealed beams at some point. ...
