Re: front fender brace straightening

Mostly 29 light bar is straighter than 30-31

Re: NOS paint thickness

The biggest culprit I’ve seen is overloading the substrate
It used to be really bad when red oxide and lacquer-based putty’s were around
Load it up and chips in months. Too much of the new...

Re: Rumble Seat Hinges part 2

Just a sidebar
The best way to restore a deck lid is to take it apart. Separate the liner and skin.
That allows access to the inside to completely clean and repair. The d nuts and a reinforcement...

Re: Replacing Roadster Door Lower Seal

The hammer/screwdriver is about what I’ve done
Heat gun could get paint and upholstery assuming it matters

Re: Model A Beltline Variations?

The doors are the same
So something else is wrong with all this
Sure you’re not mixing up 28-29 and 30-31?
Belt rails do have different shape so should be evident

Re: 68C and A400

I make them out of aluminum and polish. Small screws mount them from the backside
Originals were plated pot metal.
I don’t really know what water plating is.....maybe I live under a rock!

Re: Nitrocellulose

If you have the paint and it’s been stored properly, why not use it? Maybe I’m misreading that you had paint but no longer have such?
Certain things should be addressed such as substrate and...

Re: Model A Victoria

The USPS used to give a lesser rate if it was a magazine or book; don’t know if that’s still exists. I wouldn’t pay $14.50 either; that should mail for $6+-

Other than the ones I’m hoarding......
It’s been ages since I’ve seen a really good top.
Louvers are out there but tops are usually beat up, wallowed around, stretched, hinge broken and hard to...

Re: Will a 31 Cabrio Quarter fix a Coupe Quarter from the Body line down?

28 29 might 30 31 won’t
Some have different reveals around rear wheel wells also
Re-read....no, a cabby won’t readily fix a 31 coupe

Re: 31 slantwindow

Vicky doors are wider
Inner won’t work.
Nobody makes a decent outer. The outer bead has a slight arch in it rather than straight
When installed a straight one looks like it dips

Re: Never Tried To Restore

A funny thing about me and stripping...
I’m right handed. I can stripe the drivers side going front to rear to my so~so satisfaction.
Then there’s the passengers side.....OMG. You’d think going...
