Re: King Pins Anyone in MN that can do them
Now, there you go. The $8 reamer. One trick is not to lean too hard on the wrench while cranking, as not to egg shape the hole. Be genle, the tool drags in all by itself when turned. I covered to...

Re: King Pins Anyone in MN that can do them
Yep. The F1 King pin is 0.8125.
I did it myself, believe it or not. I used the cheapest chinese made adjustable reamer from amazon to do the job. It was around 8$ shipped!!! It has a 3/8 square...

Re: 94 carb.
That‘s more than adequate. Most people start at 1-1.5 turns from a light seating. Then go for the highest idle rpm or preferrably the highest manifold vaccum reading.

Re: 1934 Tudor needs a little hop-up
Hi Harty,
fellow german. When I calculate the theoretical speed of my truck in direct gear and 4,87 rear end, I'll end up (7.50-16 Tires, 80cm diameter) with 73 kmh at 2500 engine rpm's. I...

Re: Tyres are getting expensive.....
Had five 7.50-16 white walls fitted to my F2 rims last month. With new tubes, mounting and balancing the bill showed 2300 Euros. Now my allowed speed index is 190km/h LOL.
Cheapest chinese...

Re: Home made woodgrain
What a shame we are still left without the pictures. But I know about this technique.
In exactly this way decorating was done to bicycle rims and steering heads for many decades over here. Over...

Re: Preserving Patina
I used the german equivalent of penetrol (called Owatrol) on every part of my truck. It seeps deeply into the rust and ousts and replaces oxygen from all minute pores before becoming solid. This is...

Re: Torque for Flyeheel to crank bolts?
Simply clamp a vise grip to the flywheel ring gear. It is shown in Vern Tardels book. I doubted the method, so grabbed a vise grip and torqued the bolts down to 80. No problem at all.

Re: Holley model 94 Carburetor Questions
A #7.5 power valve is the preferred one in today's rebuilt kits, IIRC.
Depending if you are at sea level or elevated altitude, this might be the right one for you - or not.
Note: modern...

Re: 1947 Wiper Motor
Hi Brad,
in my wiper motor the grease had solidified after a few decades not in use. It was completely frozen solid. I rebuilt it myself and used heavy weight silicone oil as a lubricant for...

Re: Run engine with generator disconnected?
Hi Thomas, the starter solenoid looks kinda familiar. It sure is a lot nicer than the modern replacement parts.
So mine was either replaced at one time or the type you show was in duty already...

Re: Run engine with generator disconnected?
Hallo Thomas, ja - yes.
Apart from a "minimal 12V System" by the previous owners (half dead 12V battery and a coil) the Truck is a time capsule, all is there and original. Had been sitting in a...

Great, Kurt. The Genny has only 2 brushes. Should have come to my own mind, though.

Run engine with generator disconnected?
Hi Barners, as per title!
Does it do any harm? Will the generator catch flames?
For moving around the 1949 F2 restoration project on my property and for some very initial carb and ignition...
