Choke rod knob is loose
The new choke rod knob I installed on the choke rod has come loose. I tried gluing it on with Seal All but that only worked for a little while.
Any other ideas about glue or other means to hold it...

Re: 32 windshield glass install
This is a sad but educational story. In my 36 sedan, I installed a new windshield glass using setting tape. I cracked that glass while trying to get it in proper position in the frame. I took the...

Re: ANZAC Day - 25 April
I am humbled to call Australians and New Zealanders allies. We seem to think and act alike in many ways.

Re: What product best for white walls tires
I rescued 4 whitewalls that had been dirty for years, yellow and grease marked. I used my random action electric sander, the one I use to finish wood projects. I think I used 220 grade paper and a...

Re: french grass track in 1953
Looks like lots of Fords! I was impressed by the crowd. Some men wore ties and many people were in fine clothing. Also, some of the lunch shots were revealing. A tablecloth and wine? Wow!

Re: 1936 dash instrument restoration
I have replaced such tabs with new metal soldered in place of the originals. I used lighter "tin" but these tabs don't have to be awfully strong. The lighter material bends without breaking a bit...

Re: 6 volt/12 volt jump box
We all know that a decent running flathead is easy to start with a starter. Well, it is easy to start with a hand crank, too. Long ago, I had a 36 with a bad battery. I also had no money, but I...

Re: side view mirror
I used the drive-from-the-bottom method after reading what others did. I was expecting to have a big problem, but they came right out with almost no paint damage. I think it might be best to try...

Re: White wall care
Some good suggestions above about cleaning your white walls. I have a car with white walls probably 20 years old. (Here is where people will tell me they are no good!) After I had done most of the...

Re: On The Road With The Merc
I sure do like the looks of your part of the world. It would do well if some of us city slickers remembered where our food comes from.
Thanks, farmer.

Re: Finally got it to not overheat!
Not a flathead but same topic. My 56 Thunderbird was heating badly after not being run for about 4 years. Before I found the problem, I did the usual. Flushed the whole system best I could, took...

56 Tbird shoulder /seat belts
Does any of you know of 3 point, shoulder/seat belts that can be used in a 56 Tbird? I haven't been able to locate such belts, but think they might exist.
Thanks for the help.
