That's what I was figuring as well.. speaking with the fellow at Synders confirmed my suspicions. New *better* cups were ordered.. I also noticed that there is quite a bitbof paint on the upper part...

I'm mounting the windshield on my 29 roadster, and having an issue with the way it fits. It seems that suddenly the windshield seems too wide-
When I mocked everything up I used a crusty original...

Mocking up a 1946 rear spring

I'm starting to mock up the rear suspension in my 29 roadster..
I have a 46 rear spring that I was planning on hanging behind a 9" rear-
The spring is 47 1/2 eye to eye.. What I need to know is...

Whatever it is or was , the header beam was defiantly fabricated in... the lead work and visor contest to that...

i think it'll be less work to modify the wooden header than remove and replace the header beam...

so it looks like the rest of the cowl is ccpu/coupe... and at some point someone grafted on the cabriolet header rail.. perhaps they were trying to make a cabriolet pick up.. why they would do that i...

it looks like at some point in time there was some metal work done.. the top of both A pillars are leaded in....
'again is this something that would be done at the factory??

According to the serial # it appears to be a late November of 1931..
the truck came with a wide bed, and the firewall was the earlier style(no indention)

well this clears up so questions.. doesn't really help me too much... since the cabriolet has no visor, i'm guessing that there is no wooden header either??

it's way too late to change the cowl.....

i finally got around to replacing the roof wood in my 31 pick up...

much to my surprise when i removed the what i believe to be the original wood, under the header there are 2 chrome plated brass...

it's not so much of taking a short cut.. seems like buying fenders from Macs would be wayy easier.. i appreciate your 2¢ Will... all very valid points, but at this point in time i would rather use...

I searched the topic a handful of ways, and came up empty handed...

I'm looking to narrowing a set of rear fenders to use with my 31 wide bed pick up build....I know the wide bed fenders are 2"...
