You might consider tightening the pak nut while the engine is idling to prevent it locking up the shaft - after tightening & shutting down, make sure upon the next re-start, you verify the fan belt...

I believe the accessory McLaren wire wheels utilize the same installation that you're describing - they mount up to an original Ford hub.
