Re: Hemmings MOdel A Calendar

I had recently received in the mail an order form for the 2022 Calendar, which I’ve purchased for many years. Then I noticed the Vintage Ford name, and said that’s it…..not interested any longer.

Re: My Mileage

On longer tours, my 1930 Town Sedan, with the 5.5 HC head and Mitchell OD, has gotten about 22 mpg, cruising at mostly 60 mph. But driving stop and go in town it drops to about 15 mpg.

Re: Woven vs molded brake linings

The rear brakes on the Model A do a large share of the braking…..I think most would agree you should do both while you are at it. Randy Gross here can help with that….he is our own expert brake...

Re: trouble starting

Not sure if it would make much difference, but I only pull the hand throttle down about 1/4….not half. I open the GAV about 1/2 turn, then hit the starter….I don’t pull the choke out until after...

Re: Finally had it with the gas tank.

The person I bought my restored 1930 Model A from sealed the gas tank over 16 years ago. I have had it now about 15 years, and it always has ethanol laced gasoline in it, and the sealer has remained...

Re: Tom Wesenberg

I just received my annual homeowners insurance renewal with AAA, and my premium was within a few dollars of last years…..they certainly did not raise it due to higher lumber or other costs.

Re: model A overheats

If you have a lot of tubes in your radiator really plugged, vinegar or other solutions will likely not clear……the only sure way to unclog them is to have it rodded, by someone who knows how to do it....
