Headlight questions 46 Ford

Ok, I have new headlight harness and dimmer switch. Headlights only work low beam UNLESS I switch wires around on the headlights, then lights only work high beam. Have I miswired the dimmer switch?...

Ok, having problem keeping light switch knob from popping out of switch assembly. I insert, then give swift push inward. Latches but not securely. Pulls out of switch body when going to headlight...

Thanks for your feedback guys. If I remember correctly mine was more like woodiewagon46 style. DAMN, I put this piece somewhere where it would not get lost! Now its lost!
