Re: 10mpg

That definitely doesn't sound good. I don't need full throttle to go 40 mph up a moderate hill. My car is all stock. I run non ethanol 93 octane fuel.

Is your fuel fresh? Tire pressure correct?

Re: Headlight Issue

Another easy thing to check is the headlight conduit connectors. When I got my car the incorrect bullets were on the wiring harness. They were making contact with one another in the round plastic...

Re: 20 or 30 Amp Fuse?

Actually, the fuse is protecting everything "downstream" of wherever it is placed. The wire size from the alternator to the fuse is irrelevant.

What I mean is for the commonly used fuse (mounted...

Re: Vacuum Wiper motor removal

It should take 2 minutes with a screwdriver to remove it. ( if you go slowly)

Re: Vacuum Wiper motor removal

The vacuum motor should mount to the OUTSIDE of the window frame. It will be plainly visible. Remove the 2 screws from the inside of the windshield frame.

Re: Hand throttle play

Thanks Alexiskai. Looks like the loose part is called the pivot arm or bell crank. It is very loose on the shaft. Now, how do I fix it?

Question Hand throttle play

I have done a search and haven't found anything on this. When I operate the hand throttle lever on the steering column, it does not change RPM until reaching the 3 o'clock position. That first...

Re: tube question

Ok, so I just installed 6 new tires, tubes, and rim liners without doing any of this. No powder, no soap. I put about 5 psi in them and bounced them on the floor half a dozen times to let the tube...

Re: Starter fuse Question ??

I highly recommend the fuse. Be careful what size fuse you install though. When I bought my car, it had a 30a fuse installed. I had a short in a headlight connector which cooked the headlight...

Set of 4 WW 19" tires

I have a set of 4 vintage Sears Allstate wide whitewall tires. 4.75/5.00/5.25/5.50-19 Made in USA

They are from the 70s I believe. Good tread and sidewalls on all of them. They came off the rims...

I suppose I am one of the "new guard". I will say that one of the main reasons my wife and I chose to buy a Model A was because of the tremendous knowledge and support out there for these cars. I...

Re: What is Engine 'Break-in'??

I agree with both Brent and Moose. In 1930, a model a engine probably required a break in period. In 2021 a new Corvette does not. My question would be: do/can modern parts and machining eliminate...
