Running Stand

Anyone produce a modest running stand for Model-As? I kinda hate to chop up a good frame... I have a welder, but I am far from being able to weld (if you know what I mean)

Re: Do You Guys Have to Let the Engine Warm Up Before Driving Away?

For me, what the others have said about the GAV opening up a bit at first. However, I always like to let it run for a minute to get the oil circulating just a bit. Don't know that it necessary,...

Re: Anyone run a Lion Head

Alexiskai, how did you learn to make all those calculations? I have studied some engineering (not a PE), and land surveying so I'm not stupid. However, when I see technical data like that I always...

Re: Anti Theft Devices You Can Install

Hmmmm. Many...So far I find 1 that looks like it's had some thought behind it, and works on a non-computer car. It does have a subscription fee though.

Re: Anti Theft Devices You Can Install

My Honda has Keyless, but if someone hops in it, and it is already running it will run till it runs out of gas. After that they will have trouble getting it restarted.

Re: Anti Theft Devices You Can Install

I agree with both of you gentlemen. That's why I want them to get away a little bit before the car dies. 1) I don't want to die, 2) I'm not all that keen on being forced to carry a gun around...

Re: Where is the water going?

Rig up a plastic bottle to catch the overflow. Put it back in, and the level should be about the same. If not it's a crack, or a head gasket. (out the tailpipe in water vapor).

Re: Water Tempature Reading

It is possible that the car is equipped with a 2-row radiator. My car was when I got the car.

Re: Cast Iron brakes

A word about cast iron drums. This weekend our local chapter had a "test=n-tune" where we all do minor fixes to our cars to ready them for the touring season. A member was there with a A he...

Re: 6.1 Head / Carburetor Choice

I did not know you can bore out the up tube of the A intake. Do they ever snap after you do that?

Re: 6.1 Head / Carburetor Choice

I agree with comment #3. Unless you have big cam, and or larger valves, the Zenith is still a nice choice.

Re: Anti Theft Devices You Can Install

OK, I tried to solve this on my own, but I am stuck. I seem to recall about a year ago someone posted something about a kill-switch that they put together for their car. They carry a seperate fob in...

Thumbs down Re: Engine question

Get this, I sent a crank over that had never been cut. They plainly sent something back (after waiting I might add) that plainly was not "my" crankshaft. All the journals were not even cut the same...

Re: Drive Collector cars How Much?

Love those storys like that. I restored my 1028 A-Model, in time to drive to my wedding in 1995. My Skyliner (above) is great, and quite unique. However, out of all the collector cars we have I...

Re: Engine question

I have over $5,000 in my engine that was put together last year. If It would have been ready and available I'm confident at that price I'd be a buyer. Heck, a scatcrankshat alone is like $1,375. I...
