Re: 97 carb hesitation

Car should run fine with a properly functioning stock fuel pump. I’ve had antiques for 40+ years, never used an electric fuel pump. NEVER had starting problems cold, hot or after sitting 4-5 weeks.

Re: 34 speedo removal

The speedo reads about 5-7 mph slow, shows 35 when Iím actually doing 42. Is that a simple one or two tooth adjustment of the pinion position?

Re: 34 speedo removal

Like I said guys, the unit is very lightweight and the way it sits in the recess of the opening adds to the support of the one stud.

Re: 34 speedo removal

cas3, thanks for the compliment. The gauge is so lightweight that one stud holds it in place fine as it is also supported by the way it sits in the dash opening. I put a strip of duct tape on the...

Re: 34 speedo removal

I got the wrong speedo out, it WAS glued in. Now to get the remnants of whatever glue they used off. Only one stud is there to mount the speedo, have to figure out how to secure the other tab.

Re: 34 speedo removal

Yes Terry, I saw there’s only about an inch left of one stud. I’ll figure something out because I definitely want the correct speedo, the 46 looks horrendous.

Re: 34 speedo removal

The rear of the 46 speedo looks like the 34, tabs included. It almost seems glued in. Nothing inside those holes either.
