Re: Throttle control rod length curiosity

That's really cool. Thanks Don. Yea, I was measuring from the "B" dimension. Ive' no need to quibble over .030" with the new one. I didn't measure with a caliper anyway so it could be right on the...

Throttle control rod length curiosity

My car came with the shorter control rod pictured (black) that measured 10.125 from socket to socket. The new one measures 10.5 as I believe it should. I think Ford changed the length again in 39 to...

Re: '36 3 Window Coupe

Gorgeous 36 3 window coupe! Looks like there's an electric cooling fan stuffed in there also. Great for a hot day parade.

Re: Optima 6 volt battery

For what it's worth, I got my Optima 6v red top from Summit at a decent price and delivery. Very happy with it. I had to make a bracket for it's odd shape but it sits under the floor pan anyway.

Re: broken window channel

Hey, These look great. I don't mind having a spare for the other door either. I bought them.

Re: Fuse size

I installed an Airtex E8902 on my 6v 36 coupe with a 10 amp fuse as recommended in the instructions. I only use the pump before starting engine. Although once I needed it running with low fuel level...

Re: Engine noise at idle. Has anyone heard this before?

Ah, That's it! Problem identified. Thank you Ken and Mark for your keen insight. I will be getting a new belt thus lowering the generator somewhat.

Engine noise at idle. Has anyone heard this before?

I removed the fan belt and the random "ching" noise that was more pronounced at low idle was completely gone. So I figure somewhere in the water pumps or generator bearings, fan blade. With the belt...

Re: Different rear drums

I pulled these off my 36 but since it had been converted to juice brakes, I'm not sure what I've got here.. Mercman, thanks for the photo of yet another variation ; straight radial ribs....

Different rear drums

So, I pulled the rear drums off to get at the leaky wheel cylinder(s) and found a few differences. I like the one on the left better. Is this a later design or from another model vehicle?

Re: '35 Fuel Sensor

It might sound a little crazy but if you open the rumble seat, remove the back cushion, close the rumble seat then crawl inside the car with a flashlight, you will have all the room you need to...

Re: Fuel line to firewall clamp question

I just looked at mine and it has the two dimples. I would think a Knock off part would skip this detail but I don't profess to know...just my two cents.

Re: 36, 5W rumble seat removal?

Thanks Guys, I got one of the two axles removed from the deck lid hinges today. Combined with removing the back cushion, I was able to remove the tank sender and look inside the tank.
My inspection...

Re: 36, 5W rumble seat removal?

Ultimately, I'm trying to reach in the tank to reinstall the fuel line tube that goes near the bottom of the tank to the fuel line boss in the tank. From what I remember 10 years ago when I had this...

36, 5W rumble seat removal?

I've removed the four bolts at the flange to body connection. I then loosened the screw at each side of the axle thinking the axle would slide horizontally to one side or the other in order to...
