Re: Eaton gas cap, original or aftermarket?

Dissolve the rust (Evaporust) and you may be able to see some traces of the printing with a magnifying glass. This view looks like an Eaton cap. A side view would help.

Now that you have it apart, I would agree to put Helicoil inserts in all the holes. Make sure to drill all to the same depth with the matching Helicoil drill before threading with the Helicoil tap.

If you don't have enough beads, wood it improve, but not completely balance from lack of counter...

I would agree the front car is a 1930 Standard Fordoor Murray. There aren't signs of any holes for cowl lights that could indicate a Town...

Brent, you are correct about stainless being harder to stamp than mild steel.

There are hundreds of types of stainless. 304 stainless is similar to that used for the Tudor, so as a "rough"...
