Re: Checking blocks for condition Pressure testing

Yes, I learned that lesson the hard way. I now have my own testing plates too. I like the one you have there. Do you do a leak down test or are you using a soap bubble method too? How high do you...

Re: Stromberg 97, what's missing?

So the new Stromberg BIG97 secondary carbs are purposely designed this way. No power valves or accelerator pumps. You have to run them in a progressive linkage configuration and operate similar in...

Re: Stromberg 97, what's missing?

I sent a message to Stromberg and Clive got back to me. He is sending me a pair to install. I'll let you know how it runs after I get them in.

Stromberg 97, what's missing?

Trying to get my new tri-power set up running and pulled the tops off to have a look. Who can see an issue with one of the secondary carbs? This is a Big97 Primary/Secondary setup.

Re: Mallory Magspark coils

Are you referring to the rectangular ones? If so, I had used one a while ago on a hot SBF. Got it from a swap meet so I was lucky it still was good.

Re: No oil pressure on fresh rebuild

We got the engine back in the car and fired up without incident. Oil pressure was good and no abnormal noises. Got it up to operating temperature twice so far and retorqued the heads each time. One...

Just tried starting new rebuild and could not develop any oil pressure. I previously forced oil in the rear tap a couple weeks ago to prime the pump, but has been two weeks ago. The motor started,...

Re: 8ba wide belt length size- no generator

I figured I would just roll the belt on once I get the size figured out. But having a tensioner would make things easier as long as it doesn't look too out of place. It's going on a vintage drag car.
