Re: Shipping ....again
I had a part being shipped by Estes, I waited 3 days (missing work) for delivery. Each day they said it would be there. Finally showed up the third day about 5pm. Its not just small packages!!

Re: Birthday present
Synchro, in MD, there is an uninsured motorist fund just for that case. Also, if a person cannot get insurance from a private carrier the state will provide it, but it is quite expensive. Usually...

Re: Birthday present
I was sideswiped on a small country road whilst driving my F150. Her mirror took my mirror off (which was lucky as it was a matter of seconds from being a head on). She kept rolling along, road so...

Re: Birthday present
[QUOTE=Dean Lemoine;1987810]A few thoughts and comments:
Why did I drive my Model A to a big box store in the middle of winter?
It was a beautiful North Georgia day. There’s nothing that...

Re: Birthday present
Yes, you can reason its only a car, but it belongs to someone and that should be respected. I do not expect for my car to be hit when I drive it, and I dont anticipate hitting someone elses car...

Re: Running board mounted air pump.
Yes they did. One big cause of flat tires was horse shoe nails. Just about every early motorcycle I have come across has a tire pump for just that reason

Re: 4 post lift
My neighbor had a really nice 2 poster. He died unexpectedly, after some time had passed I approached his widow regarding helping her clean out the shop. Which was full of cars and parts. She was...

Re: 4 post lift
I thought at one time Backyard Buddy was a 'mom n pop' type of manufacturer, I recall reading that they were sold to another company, I suppose it was Advantage.

Re: 4 post lift
I have neither, but if and when I get one it will be a 4 post. I think they both have their advantages and disadvantages. My thought process and I may be wrong, is that a 4 post is a bit safer, and...

Re: Was Plywood Used
I have heard this many times. I know ZERO about car production, but I do know a little about wood. I would think it would be easier (thus cheaper) to have wood to be used in the production of the...

Re: Was Plywood Used
Good info, wasnt sure there would be any response. Somewhat related I had a 1913 English made motorcycle, the floor boards in the sidecar were plywood. Common sense and logic would have made me...

Was Plywood Used
There are a few threads that pop up regarding wood questions. Purely out of curiosity, was plywood used in any parts of the original construction of any of the 'A's?

Welcome Julie,
I do not know Shew01, and have no dog in this fight, but lately there seems to be an influx of scammers on car forums. In particular when an old thread is resurrected. I am sure he...

Re: Painting
Regardless of price, any paint job should be great. The expectations should be none the less. A reputable shop will strive to do their best work.

Re: Diesel Conversion
I saw a car at Reningers a few years ago (perhaps the owner is on here) that was converted to all electric. I thought that one was pretty interesting as well.

I once did a home repair to the local fire chiefs house, his bathroom caught on fire from an unattended candle!

Re: NOS paint thickness
Would be nice to see some original paint examples. I would imagine they put on just what was needed. And yes, most aspects of a car are over restored today. In defense, its what people expect though....

I agree with you not wanting to double pay, but like the previous answers I dont think that full coverage with a specialty carrier is all that expensive. The one thing you may want to double check on...
