Re: Oil pump & pan?

The two pictures posted may be somewhat deceiving when viewing them on my small cell phone screen, but to me there does not appear to be 3/4" clearance between the screen and the bottom inside...

Re: Crank pulley

Okay, some clarification on this post that I made here earlier today. I read the original post last night and when I came back today, I did not read the post that described the modified front engine...

Re: S curve radiator hoses, warning .

With a number of well known Fordbarner's reporting a good transaction with this seller in Holland/Netherlands, it makes me wonder what actually happened that caused the OP's reported bad transaction,...

Original '32 Ford Grille & Grille Shell

Original '32 Ford grille and grille shell that I bought for possible use on a traditional hotrod project. Plans changed, and I feel this is too nice to just leave hanging on the wall, so I have...

Re: Failing health

I came down with the same thing (Meniere's Disease) in 2007, about 3 years into retirement. Completely disabled me for nearly 2 years. Sick as a dog almost every day. Lost about 45-50 lbs. Severe...

Re: Changing a 36 steering box for a 37

You really need to be careful that the steering shaft does not get bent when pressing the '37 worm gear in place. If either the steering shaft or the horn/light switch rod gets bent, the headlights...

Re: Changing a 36 steering box for a 37

I would press that worm off the '36 shaft. There were some previous posts on pressing worm gears on or off shafts, if you do a search you should find them. One post by NealinCa and another by me. ...

Re: A little eye surgery

Charlie, I had that done two years ago, both eyes. It was such an amazing thing to be able to see so we'll again, w/o glasses, like I could when in my 20's. It was so quick and painless.

Re: Changing a 36 steering box for a 37

Once you remove the horn button/light switch rod (w/o bending it!!), back the nut off until it's flush with the top of the threads on the steering shaft to prevent thread damage. Sometimes you get...

Re: Changing a 36 steering box for a 37

Our first attempt on this swap was to keep the '36 frame mounting plate and drill the extra hole in the steering box casting, exactly as suggested in these posts, and in our case, it would not work...

Re: Pre bent brake line kit

Another vote for Richard Lacy and the Early V-8 Garage in CA. I don't know where C&G gets their preformed lines from, but it must not be the Early V-8 Garage.
I bought Richard Lacy's complete...

Re: Changing a 36 steering box for a 37

There are some old threads on this subject that will be a big help for you to read before starting on your project. We put a '37 steering box in a '36 Phaeton and everything pretty much bolted right...

Re: rear drums

Actually, the Ford rear hubs/drums from '35 to '48 will "fit" the rear of '46-'48 cars, but you will have a lug pattern change in '36-'39 drums that would require different wheels. The '35's would...

Re: 6.00x16 Tire Usage

I think at that time I would have seriously considered trading her in for a new model.

Re: I'd like to start a new thread on the components used in building a flathad

Great idea Ron. I see posts on Facebook, and here as well, where young folks (and some old) are building their first Flathead engine, and asking questions about how they should do the build. In many...

Re: 8BA in a 36 Ford

I'm also thinking I had to change oil pans on the 8ba I put into a '35 3w coupe, but it was only 60 years ago and I can't remember all the details :) However, I'll never forget all the girls who...

Re: Harmon Collins build thread ...

This will be a good one to follow. I think I had asked if you could do this for us some years ago, around the time you did the crab build thread.

Re: V-8 Times

Tom McCarriston in NH, one of our EFV-8 Club photographer's, just told me he received his Nov/Dec copy yesterday, February 3rd. So I told him I'd add him to the list :)

Re: 59 Engine bolt torque

Ol' Ron also covered his procedure for fitting full floating rod bearings in his book, "Nostalgia", for those who may have a copy, or have access to a copy.
