Re: cast headers

I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought about doing that. This adapter that you’re talking about, this would adapt the exhaust port flanges? I’m picture pieces of metal about 1/4” thick with 4 bolt holes...

Re: cast headers

You had me excited for a second. I knew I couldn’t get by that cheap.

I kind of figured the center dumps wouldn’t work either. But I was hopeful. I don’t think shoebox central sells those...

Re: 1950 Coupe Mystery pieces

That’s funny. They must be from a maverick rearend I pulled at a scrapyard. That’s what I get for hoarding parts.
Spent a good amount of time going through images, looking through manuals..etc. and...

1950 Coupe Mystery pieces

I took these off this car...I think. I can’t figure out where they go. Anybody know? See pictures.
The first picture at the mystery pieces.
The second is where I thought the pieces went but it...

Called Dennis Carpenter today. The guy didn't know what the heck I was talking about. I emailed them the pictures...still waiting for a response.

This is out of the catalog. This is what I ordered, and this is what is pictured in the catalog. I'm going to call Dennis Carpenter tomorrow.

Shoebox Brake Drum replacement

I bought new drums from Dennis Carpenter. I received what was pictured in the catalog. But they don't fit. There is an extra lip on the new drum that interferes with a piece of the backing plate. My...

Re: 1950 Rearend Disassembly

Thanks, everyone. I do have the green shop manual but I couldn’t really make sense of this part and the diagram didn’t give me confidence.

If nothing else could be holding it up then I’ll get it...

Re: 1950 Rearend Disassembly

Yes. Axles were completely out. But the thingy still won’t come all the way off. Gets hung up around 1/2” off the surface of the housing.

1950 Rearend Disassembly

Slowly getting back to work so the progress on the project is slowing down. This whole COVID thing made me realize how much work gets in the way of me doing things I want to do.
Anyway, I tried...

Re: Mystery part

And maybe the speedo being tilted is creating an illusion, making other parts seem to be more or less sloped. I’m going to try and clean it up and straighten the Speedo and take a better more...

Re: Mystery part

Wow. really? I was not expecting that. My family has had this car since the late 60s. I'm sure one of my uncles put that there. But none of my family members have had a 30s anything as far as I know.

Re: 1959 Coupe Header question

I know. just exploring my options. For $100 or so maybe worth it. But I'm not going to pay $300 for it.

Re: 1959 Coupe Header question

I did look around the forum before I posted my question. Didn't see that. I have noticed that my frame has a hole through part of the frame in which the exhaust pipe goes. That hole is on one side...

I have looked at Red's site. That ecklers was just an example. Red's prices are a little closer, within $20 of each other. But still shows a different part for convertible and non convertible. ...

1959 Coupe Header question

Title states 1959. I meant 1950. Sorry. This is a shoebox question.
