Re: Alignment "checker"

Bill is correct the steering wheels have a master spline, and can only be put on one way. Also, the tape may tell the driver has an alignment problem, but more likely what he feels thru the steering...

Re: Hot soak? No, not in the tub :)

After the first incident, you found the points gap had closed up a little and re-adjusted them. Not uncommon, rub blocks do wear.
Then after the second incident, you found the points gap too wide. ...

Re: Helping dad with his speedster

I remember the first time my daughter helped me with the Fordor. The project that day was cleaning and re-greasing the front wheel bearings.

I talked her through it. Loosen lug nuts, put car up...

Re: Oil Filler Tubes Baffles Adjustment

I am puzzled why you would think the oil filler tube might be a cause of you oil link problem. Unless you are thinking the baffles are not allowing back pressure to flow.

I think you have a...

Re: Onward with the radiator repair

CarlG - Please tell me your source for this style clamp. (I hope it isn't: "They are only available in Alaska.")

Tried doing a search, but not find them yet.

Thanks,

Re: Go ahead and give this thread a one-star rating. Babbitus fragmentus!

I haven't seen it mentioned (maybe I missed it), but there might have been oil starvation at the center bearing.

Have you checked the oil passage for this bearing from the valve galley?

Re: Secret Tips

I am not trying to rain on any party.

Just trying to save a life! I have been a reloader for over 50-years, and have seen what over-pressure can do.

After talking to Dan McEachen (the who makes oversize gears); he states the...

Re: Please Drive that Model A.

I agree with driving the Model A. Some antique cars just are not drive-able. They can be difficult to operate, have a low top speed that doesn't co-exist well with today's traffic, and are hard to...

Re: Gasket for a Snyders 6:1 HC Head

a-bone - Ken's answer was simply to suggest talking to the vendor (in this case Snyder's) since they produce the high compression head, and should be able to recommend the proper head gasket. Many...

Re: Oval Speedometer/Odometer Question

PRG999 - It is very likely that a gear on the speedometer is not meshing. It could be one of several that ultimately drive the odometer. Also, the reset knob that allows you to reset the trip...
