Re: Drug another home but with a torque converter

Were your Mercury rims red? Thought I remembered Mercury rims from 55/56 being red no matter the color of the car.

Re: 1967 Mustang rear end gear ratio

What percent of high way miles do you drive? I have 67 Galaxie with 3.25's from factory and had 72 Cougar with same. Both cars were manual transmission and seems it was a comfortable cruise. I've...

Re: 1938 Tonner Bed Floor Question

Not exactly early v8 but in the mid seventies my Grandfather bought a new step side short box F 150. The bed floor was wood and painted black like the rest of the truck, the wood had the texture of...

Re: Saturday first tour with the T-Bird

I thought Ford did an admiral job with the 11th generation of the Thunderbird with all of the government standards along with safety which the early birds have 0. I just about drool over original...

Re: dash lights

Yes it does, on the backside tucked back in between the temp lever and function lever. Not an easy one to see or get to.

Re: 64 Galaxie door panel clip alternatives

Try putting a little white grease on the pin ends or a little in the depression around the hole on the door.

A friend bought a new 62 XL Sunliner with 406, said they came on the car. I still have the engine.

Re: Need help identifying these wheel covers

That's cool, maybe on the 406 XL's it was because they were a springtime model I thought. Who knows what went on at dealers.

Re: Need help identifying these wheel covers

Also if you ordered a 62 Ford XL with 406 engine, it came with 15 inch wheels and an XL had to come with full wheel covers so Ford used the last 15 inch wheel cover they offered and it is the same as...

Re: What tire pressures do I use frnt and rear

Had no idea the pressure had been upped so far on newer tires. I know on my truck if I have no load the recommended pressure make it a bone shaker. I don't know if the door labels have you set it to...

Re: 170 6 cylinder stalls on acceleration

It sounds as others have said the accelerator pump. I could be wrong but I think those early 6's had a kind of weird loadomatic type distributor along with a spark control valve on carb. They worked...

Re: 1958 Ranch Wagon Front Disc Conversion

I'm not attracted to the disk conversions myself. The factory had HD parts and usually that just meant from a heavier car or police. I've driven from east coast to west and never felt the need for...
