Mark, they are brackets so I can carry long things, like reo bar etc, and a king brown is a BIG dangerous snake ,lots there

Last week I went out in the scrub to a mates old farm, he has a collection of old fords ,and lots of ford ww2 trucks.
I picked up really nice set of 3.78 gears for our 33 spare rear,I stripped two...

No Rob , I was too busy getting them sorted,I modified them to take a captive O ring on there body and shaft seal.
They sure came up nice.
I have some picks of the farm I went to in the model A...

33/34 front shocks

I have just rebuilt a set of 33 shocks for my Mate,and have a pile of Houdaille info ,but nothing on setting force for the damping,
Would any one have such info.
By the way ,shocks came out great...

You have to bore out the manifold to match the big97, and on the spare 33 eng (276) I had to use an 8ba manifold, then the fuel pump mount needs mods ,then the gen wont fit, need mods to the vac...

T/stats are easy to do , get a set of modern ones from the store ,get a short length of SS tube the same diameter as the inside of the rad hose,tig weld the stats to the tube ,machine off the excess...

Clem one good fix I did on the spring lube was to disassemble the springs, clean them all ,then lay the first leave in the vice, cover it with a layer of chassis grease and sprinkle in some graphite...

I would not think you would need any even if you drive a lot, our 33 often does long trips, last one out to the middle of Australia towing our c/van, 6 days at 50-55 mph in hot( 35C) dry conditions,...

Our 28 cpu ,did a few trips, took three oxy bottles back to the depot, took the weedeater to the shop for repair, one trip to the dump then out to coffee.
Just a normal days work for the pickup....

Rob you need to use a set of telescopic gauges and a micrometer to measure the hub bore right down the bottom, you will find it’s bell mouthed

Rob,what sort of bearing were you using,an original ford one?
You need to measure the bore in the hub as it may well be worn as well
Any picks of the bearing?
