Re: Model T & Model A Show at the Beardsley Cider Mill

Both of these, the 30 Town Car and the 30 prototype Town Car Delivery are alive and well. For anyone that attended the 2023 MARC National Meet in Hamilton, Ohio would have been able to see the TCD...

Re: Metal Stem Tire Valve question

The narrow rim liners are good whether using metal stems or not. If installing metal stems, you will carefully cut off the rubber stems, smooth out the surface around the hole, and install the metal...

Re: Metal Stem Tire Valve question

Metal stems are actually easy to install. I'm sure there are several threads on this site explaining how they're installed. If you get tubes with vulcanized stems, you would not need bridge washers...

Re: inner tube with metal stem, installation question

If you are using your vulcanized stems, you do not need to use a bridge washer or nut. You can simply switch your tubes and then use your rim nut bushings and dust covers. To answer your other...

Re: starter problems 28

I don't think that a later starter will work with his early flywheel. I recommend that he uses his early starter with the 1/2" shaft and fins the BR starter drive as shown in the Service Bulletins....

Re: Powerhouse Bakelite Rings

Wouldn't it be easier to just find a doner powerhouse generator with an intact brush holder? They're at pretty much every swap meet I go to.

Yes, I did pick up a lot of stems and related parts, including NOS sets. I also got two sets of NOS 28/29 hubcaps as well as other small early 28 stuff. All in all, a great meet. It continues to live...

Re: Rare model A body styles......

I think the rarest Model A I've seen is the three window Coupe that showed up at the Queen Mary MAFCA meet back in 1976. I heard a while back that it's still somewhere in the LA area.

Re: Hershey, is it really that big?

Thank goodness we have four days to try to cover all of the fields as well as socialize with people we haven't seen since last year.

Re: Sport Coupe

Beginning in September 1930, a one-piece, full length running board apron was introduced, which would be used with the later 31-style front fenders.

Re: Not that original fan again!

Currently in MARC fine point judging, if you show your vehicle with a two-blade aluminum fan, you will not receive full points and will receive a deduction as it is a reproduction part.

Re: Old Inner tubes Should I use them

I would inflate them and check for leaks or cracks. If they hold air, I would use them as they are undoubtedly better than the new tubes from overseas. The tubes in my '29 OCPU have been in use...

Re: A model N, T, A, auction that would have been fun to attend

Yes, a '56 Continental Mark II with factory air for $3,300 is indeed a major bargain. I already have two of them but at that price, I would not have passed it up.

Re: Beavertail fender’s

Beaver tail fenders were only used on early 28 Coupes, Roadsters, and Pick Ups, not on Phaetons or Sedans.

Re: Drum taillight differences

I have heard that indented lettering drum tail lamps were Canadian. If so, why are there so many all the way down here in Southern California? My guess is that both types were made in the U.S. I...
