Re: 1934 Ford Phaeton Owned By Jay Hertz Of Albuquerque

Hello Ross, I’m nearby in Corrales. Is the Albuquerque EFV8 Club active during COVID?

Re: YOM License Plate Frame

Thanks, I agree it looks good without a frame. I want one so I can put a plastic cover over it for a little more protection.

YOM License Plate Frame

Getting ready to register Ruby the truck and was double checking fit on my ‘39 NM plate. Of course when I ordered a new frame I forgot that these old plates are not the same size as current plates.

Re: Temperature

Good suggestion Jay. Thanks.

Same thing only different, the cooling system is modified. I’m used to my ‘52 Ford tractor with a non pressurized radiator. This one has a stainless cylinder overflow...

Re: Temperature

Not a typo in original post. Warms to around 160. Stays there for not long. Drops to about 110ish and stays there. All Fahrenheit.

Re: Temperature

Not sure the quality. But, an aftermarket gauge. The fact that it goes up to around 160 before it drops makes me suspicious of the thermostats.

Temperature

Drove Ruby the ‘39 pickup this weekend. Several times actually. And it was too fun to be legal.

Here’s something I noticed. Upon start up cool engine warms to about 160 as I’m driving. Then drops...

Re: The fun begins

Mark I split my time between Hawaii and the mainland. The truck lives here in New Mexico. Not a lot of old vehicles on the big island, they rust out before they get old.

Cheers,

Re: The fun begins

Tom I’ve already been thinking of Lincoln brakes based on what I’ve read. Did not even think of the sway bar. Great suggestions both. Thanks.

Re: The fun begins

I’m voting for blackwalls too. Earlier poster reminded me to check date codes. If there aged out I’ll new ones now, otherwise I’ll drive them a while.

Re: The fun begins

Would love to have that old convertible. It was quite the beach car for a 16 year old.

Jeff, I still don’t know how to create a post with a photo that is full sized like you’ve done, mine are always thumbnails.

In the glove box of Ruby the ‘39 Pickup

Took a break from work and was rooting through the glove box. Found these unused coupons.

Look closely and you can see the perforations.
