Re: Left 1932 Engine Tin

Pat,

Not at all unheard of; I'm still seeking a right side '33 V8 pan and expect no bargain when one turns up.

Re: 1932 Ford 4 cylinder engine tins question

Fairly rare, but not unheard of; for example six of seven of the more or less original '32s in the Regehr auction in Kansas later this week still have their engine splash pans intact, both fours and...

Re: 1932 Ford 4 cylinder engine tins question

Night and day difference (compare the photos in the two threads running side by side at present herein, both of which you have participated in).

Re: Left 1932 Engine Tin

If you find a nice, completely intact pair of '32 V8 engine splash pans for $400, that would be at the low end of the range of what they sell for (which is not often as they were often discarded...

Re: 34 tool storage?

I had LeBaron Bonney make pouches for all the tools including the jack, but any upholsterer could do that for you; no more rattles or paint chips.

Re: 34 tool storage?

Under the rear seat cushion with the small items as well. The space behind the rear seat back was intended for luggage, etc. (a small amount of it:D).

Re: '32 Cabriolet Front Roof Rail

The book in the photo appears to be the 1936 or 1938 edition of Ford's Hardware and Trimming Supplies catalog. As hop up notes the two versions on that page are the '33-'34 and the '35-'36. The '32...

Re: 1933 1934 ford Accessories duel temp fuel gauges info

As it was a functional extra-cost accessory it was not limited to any particular model or body type, standard or deluxe. I don't recall it being reproduced except for the face plate, but Walt...

Re: '32 Cabriolet Front Roof Rail

With respect, cups, what cups? Do you mean the dowel pins at the top of the windshield structure of the cowl?

Re: connector sleeve for choke rod

I deliberately take them apart to have the non-knob portion re-cadmium plated and use the original connecting sleeve and if I can't get a tight enough crimp, I use JB Weld as Don recommends.

Re: 32 BB 4 cyl. rear motor mount.

There were no engine steady rods on the '32 BB fours, hence no brackets for the rods on the upper bell housing, rather as you surmised, only on passenger car and commercial vehicle fours.

Re: 1932 Ford 4 cylinder engine tins question

Here's a photo of the most common variety from the V8 Club book that Charlie cites. Note the slot to clear the brake rod in a serious front spring jounce. Model B engine splash pans seem to have...

Re: 32 commercial rad cap hunt ?? 'Holy Grail'

Re: How much play (movement) should there be in a gen pulley?

There should be no end play of a generator armature (and therefore no fan end play). Perhaps the pulley is loose on the end of the armature.

Re: 32 commercial rad cap hunt ?? 'Holy Grail'

Their scarcity is a bit of a mystery given that there were tens of thousands produced.

Re: Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

CHuDWaH,

The '32 body parts catalogue lists six carryover Model A truck bodies adapted to the BB chassis, but none of them come close to the body in your photos, but if there were only a couple...

Re: Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

Per chance I encountered the car in Robert's photo on a residential street in Amsterdam back in the mid-1970s and needless to say, I stopped and had a good look at it. It had been recently restored...

Re: Bright 32 Radiator Shell?

There's a yet-to-be-documented possibility that some German semi-custom '32 cabriolets originally may have had chrome-plated radiator shells. Beyond that possibility, any other examples are likely a...

Re: 33 BB door striker spring

Bob Drake sells a hinge pin extractor or at least he used to. Worn hinges/hinge pins can make removal of the pins a real chore.

Still not at the bottom of my pages, but when it does, I'll do as Bruce does. After all, it does take money to maintain this website.
