Re: Longest trip you took in a Model A

I still have the car. Unfortunately, I didnít keep mileage records for that first engine rebuild, and I was given incorrect instructions about the spark advance and subsequently prematurely blew out...

Re: Longest trip you took in a Model A

Next was a 1400 mile RT from Portland, OR to San Luis Obispo...

Re: Horn problems

Back off the adjusting screw a few notches. If it then turns, close it down till you get the sound you want. See that the commutatiors are clean and shiny, and that the brushes are making good...

Re: Steering Box 7 tooth vs 2 Tooth vs F100

I think one factor that needs to enter the conversation is the frequency, distance, and driving conditions under which you use your A. Personally, I try to keep my cars as close to stock as possible,...

Re: What are you working on?

Iíve checked the NZ RH bracket against an original LH and they are the same length. Even so, I expect some challenges.

Re: What are you working on?

Finally found an original RH tail light bracket in NZ. It arrived last week. Spent a little time gathering wires, clips, hole drill and such in preparation for installation on my Tudor.

An...

Post Why do you own a Model A?

A man asked me this today when I took my Coupe to the grocery store, and it is not a common question, at least for me, when I’m out in my A.
It took a moment to form a coherent reason, but it...

Re: Clutch problem on 30 CCPU

Thanks Brent. I just ordered one on your recommend. But I chuckle to myself whenever I buy a repro part (or original, for than matter) and pay more than $10 for it, since I bought my entire,...

“ It’s a pain in the butt to get in the engine compartment every time you wanna go somewhere “
You expected ease and comfort in a 90-yr-old Ford? :p

Re: help with Model A market values

Thanks. I’m 76 and it’s been many moons since I seriously considered restoring a car. I’d heard from friends prices had gone way up, but didn’t fully appreciate how much! That’s why I said "at least".

Re: help with Model A market values

Ron, if you have restored ‘34s you know what it takes to bring up an antique car. A Model A will be way less money than the buy in for an early V8, but the restoration costs will still be at least in...

Re: Light / Horn Switch

I think Bratton’s meant "taper", not "tapper", which could be misleading. Tapping and tapering are distinctly different operations. Also, was the poor fit solved with retoolong in 2018?

Re: Steering Lubricant Question

Stick a wire probe down into the box and see what it brings up.
