Re: 32 spindle bolts

Sometimes the top of the axle is worn and you need to shim under the bearing to make sure there is enough space between the bottom of the axle and the spindle for the cup and felt to fit. Best to...

Re: 1941 ford super deluxe coupe front and rear bumpers

Dealing with shipping may be a bigger headache than the stuff is worth.

First I would try Facebook market place and Craigslist to try for a local sale.

When we had swap meets and I was looking...

Re: 3/8" ratchet bead roller Eastwood?

From the width, I'm thinking it is a roller skate wheel.

Picture's off the net. Was going to make one; but instead used a saw cut in a flat bar to tip the edge.

Re: 1934 sedan. Pulling out the gas tank

Pretty easy to make a simple adapter plate to fit a modern sender into an old tank.

Could always make your own similar to this homebrew tipping tool.

Re: '47 front gravel pan installation

Thanks for the replies.

I think the overlap to the rear was the best looking way to fit the pan too.

'47 front gravel pan installation

Wondering if the front gravel shield 51A-17744 goes on top the radiator pan 51A-8208 (as I have it) or under it.

Fits either way and in the Green Book illustration, the pan is shown way out of...

Re: Windshield glass removal 39 coupe

If indeed the glass was set with silicone or urethane instead of setting tape; you may very well have to break the glass out and remove in pieces to avoid damaging the windshield frame.

Re: King pin replace

Are you saying a Sonnen pin hone does not make round holes in kingpin bushings?

Re: 1935 Pickup Windshield Regulator

Maybe the rubber seal has deteriorated and bonded it self to the body.

Open a gap with putty knife and pass a fishing line thru there and then run all the way around the frame to get it loose.

Re: torque tube clam shell nut clearance problem

Get some elastic stop nuts and grind the locking portion off and you will have some 7/16" nuts that will take a 5/8" wrench or socket.

Re: 1935 Pickup Windshield Regulator

Interesting; I have never seen pot metal '35-'36 regulator gears; they have all been steel.

I've had quite a few with either worn out or rusted away teeth.

Was not one of Henry's good ideas as...

Re: Supplier for '35 Floorboard Siffener Cleats?

I looked at one time and couldn't find any re-popped. I saved the strips off the last sedan body we scrapped to use as patterns; but that is as far as I got.

Re: Which rad brace 47 fenders on 41 frame

Talked to a friend about his car. He used all '46 front sheet metal on his '41 including the 51A-5071 channel that goes across the frame and supports the 51A-16138 yoke. Also used a radiator that fit...

Re: '39-41 Lincoln brakes

Decent looking brake set-up.

I don't see a bearing on top of the spindle; it appears you are using Torrington thrust bearings. If so, how are they holding up? What maintenance have you found to be...

Re: '39-41 Lincoln brakes

WC18290 & WC18291 these have 1-1/8" bore.

F-100 wheel cylinder WC9090 WC9091 mentioned earlier will also work; but have a 1-1/16" bore.

The difference may be useful for brake balance depending...

'42-'48 fronts can be used with a machined spacer if you have the capability;...
