Re: Hot water heater will not fit

Bryan,
Have you contacted Snyder's? Those people live and breathe Model A's and T's. Every time I've had a question I've called and have been put in touch with Don or Tom and they have the answer...

Re: Selling model a

I agree with Chris W. on this post. I'm retired with almost 40 years in banking and I've seen it all. If I'm honest and I'm entering into a transaction, by all means, check me out. There are soooo...

Re: st"A"rt in 46 seconds

Do you really need new leather gloves to drive your model A. I think my car would be offended.

Re: Warranty

One of the Car Shield type companies call all of the time wanting to cover my car with their insurance. Since my daily driver is a Ranger truck and the wife's car is a lease, the only "car" I own is...

Re: Ford verse Chevrolet

I have a pertinent question. Model A's were pretty much the same for the four years they were built. Was Chevrolet the same or did they make yearly changes? Maybe this would account for some of the...

Re: First Time Tire Change

It's not a fun job but very rewarding when finished. I made some tools to pry with out of hardwood. Make sure you take off any rough edges. For lubricant I use Murphy's Oil Soap. Real slippery and...

Re: Firestone tires Too Big?

Yes, 31ASlant, the Firestones are larger. They'll fit fine and give you a good ride. I also have a rear mounted spare, but I heard that the folks who have sidemount spares have a little trouble...

Re: Carpet

My wife and I looked everywhere for carpet for our '30 town sedan. One day we were in our local Marc's store (kind of a grocery and misc. store in northern Ohio) and found just what we needed. Did...

Re: Leakless water pump ID.

There are two kinds of leakless water pumps. One requires grease in the rear bushing and the other one does not. I have the second type and it will not take any grease in either fitting, no way, no...

Re: 1930 Roadster on ebay. Thoughts please.

I agree with McMimmcs. That's a lot of money to pay for something you can't actually touch. Either take a vacation and go see it, or find a club member in the area to look it over for you. He may...

Re: Can someone identify this?

Are the two pieces hooked together, or are there two separate pieces of lawn art pictured there?

Re: Swirled Glass Shift Knobs

I had one but accidently dropped it on the garage floor. They're not very forgiving.

Re: Speedometer error

Mine is off about 5 mph at 30 miles per hour. I guess it could be fixed, but for the price of about $100 I'll just keep the difference in mind.

Re: Timing and hand throttle levers

A few years ago I helped a friend restore a '30 coupe. It went smoothly and it was a good experience until we installed the levers in the steering column.

Re: starter rod assembly

WOW. I feel humbled to give Tom Endy advice. My '30 town sedan has the rubber grommet and the metal clip screwed to the firewall from the engine side. Be proud grandpa! Looks like a good car and...

Re: Stainless Steel Model A

A couple stainless steel Fords were in the Crawford Auto Museum in Cleveland years ago. I haven't been to the museum for several years to see if they're still there.

Re: New Manufactured Zenith Carburators

I bought a new one from Snyder's on the day I got my first social security check! I think I paid about $400 for it. I put it on my car and it wouldn't work. I called Snyder's and they told me that...

Re: No Spark--Follow Up

Ralph, How long did it take to make that "silk purse out of a sow's ear?" She's a beauty. Columbiana, huh? I guess you made a few trips just down the road to Snyder's.

Horn Rod?

It's Memorial Day and a Model A friend wants to put his car in the parade. Suddenly last week his horn stopped working. We put a jumper on it and found that the horn itself is fine. We put a...

Re: "Sure-Stop" front brake equalizer

I've had these on my car since I bought it 27 years ago. I think they work as well as the original wedges, but you have to check the linings to make sure they don't wear down too far.

Re: Right hand drive frame?

Thanks for your responses guys. I think John is right in that my car (at least the frame under my car) was a leftover before the change. I've never seen the serial number on the frame, but the man...

Re: Right hand drive frame?

Good suggestion, Paul, but I don't know of any of my friends who have original engines (matching numbers.) I know my car is a 1930, but the engine is a '31 according to the engine number. The car was...
