Re: Keeping Tailgaters Off Your Back

I agree the tailgater will not make you go faster, love the sign. Another thing to consider is lighting up the rear end of your car to make it more visible. I use LED tail lights, an LED "strip"...

Re: Tire wheel balancing: is it needed ?

Personally I have never balanced my tires/wheels and have experienced no problems. We should try to keep our speed under control and not exceed 50-55 mph for a couple of reasons. First, we are...

Re: Rim flaps

I used them when I replaced my tires a while back. I agree they are tough to work with but definitely worth it in my view. It just takes patience, good tire "irons" and some good tube-lube to get...

Re: End of the road

Sorry for your situation but the car gave you joy for a good while. In reality we al are just caretakers for these wonderful machines. I too am now a full time caregiver. I am privileged to be...

Re: MARC ballot and Constitution change

I too pondered over this method and real lack of input from the membership. However if your elected representative is trusted to speak for you, then so be it, no vote is needed. I do not see any...

Re: Steering Wheel coming off black

Thanks Tom, always a little leery about clear finishes, especially clear. I see that Krylon Fusion is recommend, I'll check to see if that comes in clear. I have other Krylon clears in the shop so...

Re: Steering Wheel coming off black

Thanks everyone! I found a stretch wheel cover at PEP Boys for $5 that I will use in the interim. It was a bear to stretch on the wheel as the wheel is actually larger than recommended but it...

Re: Steering Wheel coming off black

Mike, sounds like the cover may be the ticket. I'll try PEP Boys if it ever quits raining here, grief.

Thanks, John

Re: Steering Wheel coming off black

Thanks Charlie I appreciate your answer. I have had the car for 20+ years and at one time it was shown at some national meets according to stickers on the vehicle. The horn button bezel is pitted...

Question Steering Wheel coming off black

Suddenly in damp weather my 1930 Tudor steering wheel is coming off black all over everything. I have tried cleaning it but it still comes off black, like the surface has softened. I have no idea...

Re: Cannot select reverse gear

FIXED!! The reverse gear seems to be working now that I freed up the OD actuating cable. Many years ago I had put a clamp on the actuating knob assembly because it kept vibrating in and moving the...

Re: Cannot select reverse gear

Thanks Brent and Tom, good stuff and as I think of it the OD may be the culprit. The cable to the OD has a big know under the dash and I noticed it was "out" a bit which likely moved the arm on the...

Cannot select reverse gear

When shifting into reverse gear I get no connection, just a "whirring" noise. Selecting first, second, third works just fine. There has been no unusual noise in the transmission.

I am running...

Re: Tire reviews

I am using WW 19" Goodyears and am very pleased with them. They show even wear and little tread wear after 4,000 miles. I did put full liners in the tires and that firms the tires considerably. ...

Re: Pate & New Braunfels swap meet ,

Many Pate attendees stay on site and cook in. Not really anything near that is worth the traffic nightmare at quitting time. You will have no trouble hooking up with BBQ-ers who are glad to feed...

Re: Is your "A" invisible?

I find it sort of the other way, they stare at the Model A and turn right into me. They see it all right, just get fixated and do not pay attention. I drive several different kinds of old cars and...
