You mentioned in post #67 that it ran fine without the gen.
What charging voltage do you have when the problem shows up?

Can you just disconnect the generator electrically and see if this make...

You are right! It's not visible in the pic's but the section where coli sits are much wider inside as it is only the outer tube there, approx inner diameter 42-43mm. The coil is actually mounted on...

I found those stuck inside the upper hoses on my 1936 Tudor De Luxe Touring Sedan. Last time car was driven was 1956. I believe it might be original...
