Re: headlights stopped working

Out of all the model a parts, it is the steering column switch that I despise.

As Y said, it is a poor design.

Re: Starter . . . Rebuild or Rebuilt?

Some old generator shops have a special machine that takes out, and replaces the field screws.

This is what you should use.

Re: Four-Ways Work, Turn Signals Don't !!!

I recently installed a signalstat 800 and had issues. Turned out to be a ground.

Check your grounds to the blinker wires, double check the wiring for the blinkers. really odd that the 4 way...

Re: Hi Compression Heads

Tod, i currently have a Snyder 6.1 head and I am very happy with it.

What would the HP gain be for me to go to a 7.1?

Would I still use the lowest octane?

What is the cost?

Re: Front Engine Support

Bob, I have the same one but I installed it when I had the engine out.

You will have to drill holes in the xmember for it to fit, that might be a real challenge with the radiator installed.

FYI. The fsi Zipper does not work with HC heads. I tried it and had to send it back. FSI admitted that it will not work.

I suggested that they say that in there advertising it is not intended for...

Re: Spring Mounted engine mounts for Model A

Sheldon I think the spring idea is taking you down the wrong road. This road will be nothing but problems.

And Jack, you have a way with words. "she shivered like a dog passing peach pits"...

Re: Best Replacement Radiator

Bergs is the best.

It will outperform a Snyders HD (brassworks) all day long. You will pay a little more for Bergs, but there is a reason for that.

Re: convert to LED headlights

No one has those leds, I tried.

I switched from 50/50's to logo's and I am happy. Ya you use the focus ability but the pluses are much better as Brent mentioned.

Re: What is driving an A on snow/ice like? Can you add studs to A tyres?

When I was younger many years ago we use to stud our dirt bikes with hex headed screws. It was amazing how they bit into the ice.

The thought of racing a dirt bike on ice now sounds painful.

Re: Looking for seller of Penrite steering box lube

I am using regular red grease on my torque tube and grease fittings.

Do you think Penrite would be better for the torque tube?

Re: windshield folds too far

With my windshield folded down I have to be careful or it will hit.

I push the windshield down all the way, then bring it up about a 1/2" and then tighten the lower wingnuts.
