Re: 1933 car fuel sender repairable?

There is an access cover for the sender; at least there has been on the several '33s I've had or worked on. It is on the driver's side and further to the back than the banjo clearance hole.

Re: Ramps vs Jack Stands

I prefer jack stands; ramps are always in the way normally and I can see tripping over them if put in backwards.

If you prefer something under the wheels; I have made cribbing stacks out of 2x4's...

Re: Master cylinder

I have also found new washers are in many cases too hard and need to be annealed.

Just heat them up red hot and quench or let air cool, either way works.

Guessing globally sourced copper...

Re: 1933 'stuck' glove-box door.

Maybe you could sneak a little penetrant onto the latch ball and get it free or work a tool (stiff plastic like DavidG mentioned) around the side of the stainless catch and help the ball get loose.

Re: Southside Obsolete?

Hung around by Fred too. That was an interesting auction. My kid filled his truck along with the enclosed trailer his buddy bought. Went back the next morning and filled up my truck and an open car...

Re: Need advice on a 1936 Ford

I'd inspect the wiring to be sure it hasn't deteriorated and, of course, check the condition of the brakes before hitting the road.

Re: Vanity mirror for the OWMBO

Thanks; must have where I got my acronym from; but I evidently mangled it.

Re: V8 Times Article on Bad Brake Shoes

The length shouldn't be a problem as the upper adjustment stops the shoes from retracting too far and the residual valve keeps the wheel cylinder piston from retracting too.

We attack the problem...

Re: Lower front of 35

Lowered sometimes means attacking driveways differently.

Re: Vanity mirror for the OWMBO

Thanks for the lead; C&G is my go-to spot; but I guess "vanity mirror" was too modern of a term to use.

Wonder what's up with having to call for a price; hope it is not too scary!

Vanity mirror for the OWMBO

In ages past I had a '33 Tudor with a oval beveled glass vanity mirror on the passenger sun visor.

Looking around for another one and the only place that seems to list them is Ekler's and they...

Re: Car-Jacking Woes

Cardboard is considerably easier to slide around on than carpet.

As mentioned; never go under without jack stands or cribbing.

Those little aluminum Harbor Freight jacks are great for clearing...

Re: swap 1946 spindle left to right?

Here are a couple of pictures showing front tie rods with both bad and good Ackerman; but note that the one with good Ackerman has terrible scrub radius.

Re: swap 1946 spindle left to right?

Re: Hydraulic brake questions - 1932 Coupe

Something that hasn't been mentioned is the lack of an e-brake cables. With the brakes apart; it would be a good time to install them.

Also the shoe hold-downs on the '42-'48 rear plate are...
