Installed New Carb

I just installed a “new” carb from Charlie Price’s Vintage Speed. I bought a Model 94 with the designation “59” on it. It fires right up but has a slight hesitation and occasionally “coughs” when...

Re: electic pump

If you use a toggle switch, hook it to the “on” side of the ignition. When you turn the ignition switch off, no more power to pump, it shuts off and won’t keep pumping. I had to add a fuel pressure...

Re: what was your first car and how much did you pay

My very first car was a 49 Chevy 2 Door Business Coupe (wish I still had it), Stove bolt six and a three on the tree. I bought it with my best friend when we were both 14. We paid $75 for it in...

Re: 1941 Ford flathead distributor

Skip Haney did my Diver’s Helmet for my 40. Runs like new! Anyone want to buy a Stromberg EFire POS?

Re: Carburetor or Fuel Pump Issue

If you go to an electric fuel pump, you have to adjust the fuel pressure with a regulator. I believe 3 lbs of pressure is the recommendation. My pump is a 5-8 lb unit that was cranking 8lbs of...

Re: AC Electric Fuel Pump?

Ditto what The Liberator says. The stock 94 carb only wants 2-3 lbs (if I remember) of fuel pressure. My pump says it is rated at 5-8 lbs, way too much, that’s why it was flooding out. A Holly...

Re: Universal joint.

You can buy cornhead grease by the single tube at JD or even online from Walmart. I bet Amazon has it too.

Re: 1949 Ford

Get a repair manual and make sure the rods are connected from the correct side and are not backwards. Meaning, the rods enter the levers from either the engine side or the frame side of the lever,...

Re: Stromberg EFire success

I’m still waiting for an email reply from Stromberg on my E-fire that is back in the box and on the shelf in my garage. It would run, but misfired as you accelerated. Rebuilt divers helmet...

Re: 40 Pickup Build

A lot of history in that part of the country, let’s hope they don’t let them tear down all that we enjoy! Nice pickups.

Re: Had it with the Teapot carb! Argggg.....

If you have an electric fuel pump, make sure your fuel pressure is correct for the carburetor. I spent half the summer figuring out that issue on my 40. It kept stalling out until I corrected the...

1932 Auto Show-Spokane, WA

I took this picture this summer at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. It shows a 32 Model B, appears to be a 2 door sedan. It says “Auto Show 1932, Marie Antoinette Ballroom, Ford Model B $500.

Re: Ultra "SAD" news here locally

The old Atlanta Ford Factory is on Ponce deLeon Avenue. The front portion has been remodeled to original look. The rear was torn down and a grocery store and ?office? is there. I will try to post...

Re: 1940 Deluxe Convertible Door Alignment

I bought a coil from Skip Haney along with him rebuilding and setting up my helmet distributor. I must have reefed down on it too much when installing and I cracked the beautiful "Bakelite" case. I...

Re: Aftermarked Carburator

If you have a model 94, send it out to be rebuilt by one of the PRO's and they will check out all the fitment of the parts. If you don't have one, buy from someone who will stand behind it. ...

Re: Holley 94 rebuild

Check your fuel pressure. If you have an electric pump, you may have to use a fuel pressure reducer. The model 94 is meant for 2.5 psi, mine had 8 psi before I "cranked her down". Runs great now. ...

Re: Stromberg Distributor Question

I have a 6 volt that has about 2 miles on it. It is now in a box. I could not get rid of a miss as the rpm increased. Talked to the guys at Millwood and they suggested to adjust the carburetor, I...

Re: felt seal 94 carb.

What a bunch of knowledge on this site. Thanks, now I have to take it apart again! Charlie Price’s video didn’t show that procedure.

Re: Having Carburetor Issues

Thanks Mike. I already have had issues with it. I had to grind on the lip to get the nipple screwed in far enough to not leak. It is only a temporary fix, I am ordering the Holley HOL 12-804 and...

Re: felt seal 94 carb.

I just rebuilt two 94’s and each kit had a small round felt piece that came with them. During tear down, there was no felt piece anywhere. They are in my pile of parts, I didn’t use it.

Re: Having Carburetor Issues

Ok, I installed the fuel pressure reducer. It is a Mr. Gasket from O’reilly’s. I had to set the control at 1/2 psi in order to get 2 1/2 psi. I ran the car, rechecked it and it was at 3 psi. The...

Re: Having Carburetor Issues

A previous owner installed an electric fuel pump on this car. I went underneath to get the specs off the pump and it is a 5-8 psi pump. I have 8 psi at the carburetor (bought a $21 fuel pressure...
