Re: Who can pour new Babbitts in the PNW?
I came across 2 Kwik Way LBM units in Texas last weekend. One with the Kwik Way Ford fixtures and the other with a Hub City cradle fixture with false cam. Both will do A, B and V8. If you are...

Re: future speedster progress/questiond
Front is easy if you have a ring roller, rear isn't worth the trouble if your time has any value. The local spring shop charges me about the same as a new one to do it properly.

Re: Flathead Babbitt
You can also download the Mahle bearing catalog and find something close by OD and ID. I have the V8 locators for the Kwik Way but have never messed with them. There's nothing complex about them if...

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner
We have a big one at the shop for doing Porsche engine halves and cylinder heads. Another trick is to plumb a small submersible pump to the fuel inlet and circulate while cleaning.

Re: Kwik way lbm
There was recently a Kwik Way LBM on eBay for $1750. It had the Ford fixtures but they were just shown in the pictures, not listed in the description so you need to know what to look for. I nearly...

Exactly. We're not talking about rebuilding the engine, just adjust the shim stack to spec and off you go.

Re: SolidWorks Expert? Make a part...
No, they won't look OK printed in silver PLA. If paint is an option they can be printed, sanded, primed and painted to turn out very nice. If money is no issue they can be printed in titanium and...
