I was thinking about the original pattern and it became obvious. If you look at the gear on the cam. It turns clockwise in this view and the helix would tend to push this side away from the block....

No.

There is a constant live feed to the brake switch. This feeds into the turn switch when the brakes are applied.

Well, you need something that will tell you what is live and what is not live. You need to know, not feel there is no power to the switch.

Also guessing which wires go where is problematic....

You need a glimpse of the firewall. If a separate piece, it is a 32. The motor is not a 32 judging by the angled drain cocks.

I use bits snipped from 1/8" welding wire. You could cut the ends off 1/8" drills or any suitable steel material, like a nail or coat hanger wire.

I don't know what the dimension is, but as stated it is the same. The only difference would be that the water pump pulleys will sit further forward with the 8BA motor.

That's because the F150 would have been factory designed to have enough spare travel after the normal travel to ensure the non failed side would still work.

It is lifting because of the way you are trying to stop the rotation. Use a long lever or make a tool to stop the rotation. A long piece of angle bolted to the studs for example. Leave the screws....

GB. Jack up one wheel only, leave the other on the ground. Turn the raised wheel TWICE. Count the driveshaft revolutions. The number of turns equals the axle ratio.
