There is no adjustment on my 60B. It's a May 1929 USA car .

I joke it is a one size fits all arangement. The later 30- 31 Fordors were adjustable

It sounds like you need the shims behind the bearings on the carrier.
Snyders number A4221-sh $1.65 each
The bad news is you need to take the axle apart to fit them .

Watch out for the rear...

The metal trim piece has to be removed on the Leatherback sedan ,

All screws need to be taken out it is a very tight fit,

Be careful not to damage paint a little push from side to side is...

You have a very early 28 car there ,with the single rear brake system .that requires the early type AR wheel

Katy has it right there is very little stud protruding thru the wheel in your picture...

Most of the Small bore engines have an AF------- engine number and frame number,.
of course that can be changed sometimes if rebuilt.
If it is one of those 40-45 would seem about right

Where was your friends Model A built? If it is a European car some of those had the small 3" Bore engine
.Look at the cylinder castings on the side of the engine if there is a large gap between the...

I've looked at a couple 30-31 rads I have and I think the holes in the rad mounting brackets are to far back mine seem to be 1"5/8 to 1"3/4 from the the front of the rad to the center of the hole ....

That looks like a new rad you have there .I thought the mounting holes on the support bracket should be in...

That looks like a 28 crossmember you have in it now with the solid engine mount and the raised pads for the rad. That will only work with a 28-29 style body .

CW Pasedena has it right !! They can be repaired by properly prepped Tig weld I've done a few that way with good results
Here in the UK good wheels are not always easy to find

That's an original 28 plate .In fact my Briggs 29 Fordor has one .
The stamped style came out later
You might be able to swap the bac-o-lite from the later type
